Configure NVMe/TCP using a wizard

Unisphere provides monitoring and management for NVMe/TCP directors, NVMe/TCP ports, NVMe/TCP endpoints, IP interfaces, and IP routes.

About this task

The NVMe/TCP Configuration Wizard supports a streamlined user experience in setting up the necessary interfaces for NVMe/TCP connection.

To configure NVMe/TCP using a wizard:

Steps

  1. Select a storage system running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079).
  2. Select System > iSCSI+NVMe and click the NVME tab to open the NVMe dashboard.
  3. From the Actions panel, click NVMe/TCP Configuration wizard.
  4. Select the director.
  5. Enter a value for the Network ID.
  6. Enter a value for the TCP Port.
  7. Optional: Enter a value for the Endpoint Name.
  8. Optional: Click the Use Existing IP Interfaces checkbox.
  9. Click NEXT.
  10. Select the director port of the first IP interface.
  11. Enter the IP address, Prefix, Network ID and VLAN ID, and enter a value for the Max Trans Unit.
  12. Optional: Select the Use Jumbo Frames checkbox to apply jumbo frames to all the IP interfaces.
  13. Optional: Click Delete icon to delete an IP interface.
  14. Select an option for Centralized Discovery Controller from one of the following options:
    • Autodiscovery of CDC IP address- Multicast DNS (mDNS) is enabled on the interface and it performs registration with the CDC if available.
    • Advertise DDC IP Address-mDNS is enabled, and this allows it to be discovered directly by hosts.
    • Autodiscovery disabled- mDNS is disabled on the interface.
    • Manual Configuration of CDC IP Address-mDNS is disabled on the interface. Enter values for CDC IP Address and CDC Port Number (default is 8009).
  15. Click NEXT.
  16. View the Summary page.
  17. Optional: Clear the Enable NVMe/TCP endpoint checkbox, or leave it selected to enable the NVMe/TCP endpoint.
  18. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
    • Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
